The construction of the Wailuo offshore wind farm in Zhanjiang's Xuwen county is in full swing. The 220 kV cable line was connected to grid on June 25, six months ahead of schedule.

It is one of the key energy construction projects in Zhanjiang, as well as the city's first offshore wind power project.

The municipal power supply bureau optimized five construction plans of the 110 kV cable line and strengthened construction forces to achieve early completion.

The 31-km cable line stretches through a total of 90 high-voltage iron towers.

After the project is put into operation, it will provide a strong guarantee for the city's power output. It will transport more than 500 million kWh of electricity per year to Zhanjiang's power grid and optimize its energy structure.

Elsewhere in Xuwen, the Wutushan wind farm access system project is also under construction.

Upon completion, the wind farms will further meet the demands of Zhanjiang's growing power load and provide a strong power supply for Zhanjiang's efforts in developing into a sub-center of Guangdong province.
