On the afternoon of May 9, a delegation headed by Member of the Standing Committee of Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee and Executive Vice Governor of Shaanxi Province Mr. Liang Gui visited the COSCO SHIPPING headquarters and held talks with Chairman of COSCO SHIPPING Capt. Xu Lirong. Based on the strategic cooperation between Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee, Shaanxi Provincial People’s Government and COSCO SHIPPING, the two sides expressed their hope to jointly promote the construction of the Belt and Road eastbound passage, accelerate the development of sea-rail intermodal transport through the China Railway Express, and build a railway hub and international freight distribution center involving the central and western regions with Xi’an as the leading city.
Deputy Secretary-General of Shaanxi Provincial People’s Government Mr. Xia Xiaozhong, and relevant leaders of Shaanxi Development and Reform Commission, Xi’an Municipal People’s Government, China Railway Xi'an Group, Shaanxi Provincial People’s Government Shanghai Office, and Xi’an International Trade and Logistics Park Administrative Committee, together with Assistant to the President of COSCO SHIPPING and President of COSCO SHIPPING Logistics Mr. Han Jun, and relevant heads of the Group’s Executive Division, Operating Management Division, Strategy & Corporate Management Division, and COSCO SHIPPING Lines were also present at the meeting.
