China LNG price down 2.1% in mid-Mar,NBS xinde marine news 2019-03-26 16:22

China's liquefied natural gas (LNG) price dropped 2.1 % to 4,322 yuan/t ($644.3/t) averagely over March 11-20 compared with ten days ago, showed data from National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

China kept robust stockpiling for winter season in 2018-19, in prevention of supply gap as what happened in the peak heating season over 2017-18.

But the country is unable to soak up the super-chilled fuel amid a milder-than-expected winter.

In the meantime, spring is typically the shoulder season for LNG when heating demand gradually waned amid warmer temperature. The supply glut dragged LNG prices lower.

Domestic liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) price over March 11-20 declined 2.1% to 3,921 yuan/t compared with the previous ten days, data showed.
