Job Details
As world-recognised maritime safety and environmental experts, RightShip has an ambitious vision to expand its influence in safety, sustainability and crew welfare using the best new innovation, digitalization and data-focused solutions. Working closely with the Regional Head of APAC, Customer Engagement Team, Greater China Representative and Key Account Manager, the Business Development Manager will implement new business initiatives within large accounts and identify new sales and customer growth opportunities in the Greater China region.
You will also work closely with the Product Team to ensure competitive and compelling service and product offerings and be responsible for formulating commercial arrangements. The Business Development Manager is responsible for raising our profile as a provider of choice, lifting sales performance and contributing to the wider business success across the Greater China region.
Major Responsibilities
1.STRATEGY
Identify priority growth areas and help develop and implement business development plans
Identify market opportunities and work with Regional Head, APAC to develop and sell products and services
Set short and medium-term business objectives with Regional Head, APAC and implement as per agreed plan
Build commercial business cases to support growth initiatives including end to end strategies to drive sales, promotional activities, financial analysis and reporting
Use appropriate systems and tools to deliver all required reports to support decision making
2.SALES
Act as the first point of contact for potential clients seeking information on RightShip products and services
Research on organisations and individuals to identify new growth opportunities, targeting especially the Charterers, Ports and Terminals)
Drive business growth in customer numbers, revenue, ROI, productivity and efficiency targets
Responsible for customer identification, segmentation and acquisition. Evaluate feasibility of new markets and entry options
Drive customer satisfaction by ensuring seamless service across different contact points. Resolve and escalate issues as appropriate
Constantly engage with customers to gather their feedback and reinforce RightShip’s value propositions
3.STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT
Develop, implement and maintain customer relationship strategy and plan
Communicate RightShip’s new business strategy to customers and key stakeholders
Monitor changes to key personnel in customer organisations and take appropriate action including advising relevant managers
Manage the transition of a customer from solution proposition to operational execution by liaising with closely with Operations Managers
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration or other relevant disciplines
At least 5 years of relevant work experience in generating new business and achieving revenue growth, especially within the Chartering, Ports and Terminals domains. Prior exposure in maritime Industry and/or software sales highly advantageous
Track record in generating new business and achieving growth targets
Able to forge new relationships and credibility quickly and effectively
Experience in creating brand awareness and executing branding activities
Strong business acumen, with a penchant for data and insights to support innovation
Strong negotiation, influencing and presentation skillsExcellent interpersonal and communication skills. Proficiency in spoken and written English and Mandarin. Knowledge of Cantonese is advantageous
