According to the China Association of the National Shipbuilding Industry, from January to May, China's shipbuilding completed 14.277,000 DWT, down 15.3% year on year; New orders for ships reached 17.692 million DWT, down 46% year-on-year. By the end of May, orders for vessels amounted to 102.2 million DWT, up 20.2 percent year-on-year.
 
According to the China Association of the National Shipbuilding Industry, China's shipbuilding completed 2.57 million DWT in May, up 22.4 percent from the previous month, while ship exports rose 23 percent to $1.5 billion.
