On December 9, China completed the development and delivery of its first INF3 class dedicated spent fuel transport ship, marking that China has acquired the ability to transport spent fuel by sea.
The special spent fuel transport ship adopts double bottom and double hull, with multi-channel watertight transverse bulkheads and side anti-collision strengthening structure; In terms of power, it adopts redundant setting of double main engine, double propeller, double steering gear and double independent engine room.
In addition, the ship is equipped with a large capacity independent cooling system for cargo holds, a multi-channel composite communication system, and an advanced and reliable intrusion detection and security system.
INF rules are formulated by IMO. The INF3 is the safest ship in the world for transporting radioactive materials and is suitable for transporting a variety of spent fuel assemblies.
