On June 8, 2020, the No. 2 dual-fuel ro-ro ship built by CIMC Raffles for the Swedish shipping giant WALLENIUS SOL AB started construction on schedule.
The ship is the second dual-fuel ro-ro ship in the dual-fuel ro-ro ship 2+2 series project. The first dual-fuel ro-ro ship has started construction at CIMC Raffles on March 30, 2020.
The series of projects was officially launched on April 18, 2019. It is currently the world's largest dual-fuel ro-ro ship. The project is classified into Lloyd's Register of Shipping and registered as Swedish flag.
The hull of the dual-fuel ro-ro ship constructed by the project is 241.7 meters long, 35.20 meters wide, 5800 meters in lane, and has a speed of 20 knots.
The ship is also equipped with two 685-cubic C LNG storage tanks to meet environmental requirements.
The scheduled commencement of this series of projects is another phased breakthrough for CIMC Raffles to move towards the market of high-end ro-ro ship and ro-ro passenger ship.
