On December 29, the annual meeting of the China Council for the BRICS Think Tank Cooperation (CCBTC) and the 1st Wanshou Forum on International Situation kicked off in Beijing. The meeting was hosted by CCBTC and Renmin University of China (RUC), and organized by Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies, RUC. Representatives from 90 member units of CCBTC and scholars from Think Tanks of Chinese Universities were invited to the event, which was themed on “China and the World in the New Era”. They exchanged views on topics such as the future plan of CCBTC, “major power relations and global governance”, “Belt and Road and South-South cooperation”, “political parties, trends of thought and a community of shared future for all humankind”.

 

Mr. Sun Jiakang, Deputy Party Secretary, Executive Vice President of COSCO SHIPPING, and a member of CCBTC, attended the annual meeting, and delivered a keynote speech around the theme. In his speech, Sun said COSCO SHIPPING will continue to promote construction along the Belt and Road, to support China’s further opening-up and boost the world economic and trade development.
