China's rail coal shipment climbs 9.9% YoY in Jan-Nov xinde marine news 2019-01-02 14:08


China's rail coal shipment totaled 2.17 billion tonnes in the first 11 months this year, climbing 9.9% from a year earlier, showed data from the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC). 
 
Coal delivery via railways stood at 200 million tonnes in November, a year-on-year rise of 13.9%, data showed.
 
Over January-November, China churned out 3.2 billion tonnes of coal, up by 5.4% from a year earlier.
 
The country imported 270 million tonnes of coal during the same period, increasing by 9.3% on the year. The November imports decreased 13.2% from the year prior to 19.15 million tonnes.
 
Coal exports slumped 37.4% on the year to 4.62 million tonnes in the first 11 months.
 
As of end-November, China's major power plants held coal stocks of 94.02 million tonnes, enough to cover 24 days of use.
