Daily crude steel production at key member firms of China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) stood at 2.13 million tonnes during September 11-20, falling 1.17% compared with the previous ten days, the CISA data showed.
Daily output of pig iron averaged 1.95 million tonnes during the same period, down 1.47% from ten days ago. Daily output of finished steel rose 2.94% from ten days ago to 2.11 million tonnes.
Nationwide, daily output of crude steel was estimated to decrease 1.14% from ten days ago to 2.78 million tonnes. The daily pig iron production is anticipated to be 2.44 million tonnes, dipping 0.22% compared to ten days earlier, and daily finished steel output at 3.57 million tonnes, down 0.38%.
As of September 20, CISA key member steel mills held 15.76 million tonnes of finished steel in stock, 0.29% or 46,500 tonnes lower than in early September and down 5.25% or 873,400 tonnes compared with the same period in August. The volume was 10.78% or 1.90 million tonnes lower than the same period in the preceding year, data showed.
