1.On August 24, before the US Trade Representative (USTR) in Washington, the American Association of Port Authorities (AAPA) urged the federal government to consider the negative impacts that retaliatory tariffs would have on port and other trade-related American jobs nationwide.
 
2.Yuanben and Maritime Silk Road Platform signed the "Blockchain Technical Service Cooperation Agreement". This agreement will provide blockchain services for global maritime freight,ensuring the safety of sea-going cargo transportation for the Maritime Silk Road.
 
3.Zhuhai Port Holdings Group has set up overseas offices in Cambodia capital Phnom Penh and Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon),Vietnam for smoother business connections with vital nodes in the Belt & Road Initiative.It's greatly expanding cargo connections between the world and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
 
4.Seven ships grounded off Kaohsiung Port in Taiwan due to heavy winds and waves, which were caused by a storm that hit Taiwan.All 88 crew of the seven ships that were stranded are reported safe,Taiwan’s Maritime and Port Bureau informed.
 
5.Chinese bulk shipping operator Ningbo Runhua Marine has placed an order at Wuhu Shipyard for the construction of a 64,000 dwt ultramax bulk carrier.The vessel will be used for the company’s domestic bulk shipping operations after delivery in 2020.
 
6.The Chinese ice-class cargo ship,Tian En,has joined a Russian icebreaker on Friday on its way along the Arctic Northeast Passage,a waterway connecting northwest Europe and the Far East known as the "Polar Silk Road." 
 
7.China's Ministry of Transport said on Friday that in early August,China and Panama signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Maritime Cooperation between the Ministry of Transport of PRC and the Maritime Safety Administration of Panama.Under this MOU,China and Panama will work together to build a maritime cooperation framework to deepen bilateral cooperation.
 
8.North China's Tianjin Municipality has put forward a plan to reinforce the sea protection. And the plan includes the strictest management and control measures for sea reclamations.
