On July 25, 2025, the newly built BEIJING MAERSK was officially named and delivered at HD Hyundai Heavy Industries in Ulsan, South Korea. This 17,480 TEU methanol dual-fuel vessel is the second in Maersk’s six-ship Equinox Mk-II series, reaffirming the group’s commitment to sustainable and decarbonized shipping.

Key specs:
• Length: 349.2m | Beam: 56.4m (22 rows)
• Deadweight: 198,200 tons | Max draft: 18.0m
• Engine: MAN B&W 8G95ME-C10-LGIM methanol dual-fuel
• Reefer capacity: 2,100 units

With its all-forward superstructure and port-side funnel, the vessel maximizes container capacity in a compact hull, enabling 22 bays of containers along just 350 meters of length.

The first ship of the series, BERLIN MAERSK, has joined the AE3/NE3 service under the Gemini Cooperation. BEIJING MAERSK is currently en route to Europe on an off-schedule maiden voyage.

By the end of 2025, four more sister vessels—BANGKOK, BRISBANE, BRUSSELS, and BARCELONA MAERSK—will join the fleet.
