CM Energy & BAR Technologies Partner to Scale WindWings® Wind-Assisted Propulsion Xinde Marine News Zhang Han 2025-02-20 14:25

CM Energy and BAR Technologies have formed a strategic partnership to accelerate the deployment of WindWings® wind-assisted propulsion technology for medium-sized vessels (20-24 meters). This collaboration marks another significant step forward following the success of their previous work on the 37.5-meter large wind sail project.

WindWings® is a groundbreaking wind-assisted propulsion system designed for handy-sized bulk carriers, chemical tankers, and general cargo vessels. Each WindWings® sail can save up to 0.7 tons of fuel per day on global routes, significantly reducing carbon emissions and helping the maritime industry move closer to achieving net-zero goals. With this technology, CM Energy is poised to accelerate the adoption and market penetration of this game-changing solution in the shipping sector.
