On January 16, 2025, Singapore-based N2 Tankers proudly announced the delivery of its newest vessel, M.T. Southern Respect, a modern Aframax tanker built by Sumitomo Heavy Industries. Delivered at Yokosuka Shipyard, Japan, the vessel immediately set sail for South Korea to load its first cargo, destined for Argentina. This addition marks a significant step in N2 Tankers’ fleet renewal program and increases its total fleet size to 11 vessels.
 
Commitment to Quality and Sustainability
 
Capt. Madhu Vadakkepat , Director of N2 Tankers, emphasized the strategic importance of this acquisition. “We are thrilled to welcome Southern Respect to our fleet. This addition is part of our renewal program, ensuring a young, efficient, and high-performing fleet that consistently meets the needs of our customers.”
 
The Southern Respect is equipped with a scrubber system and advanced eco-design features, aligning with the latest International Maritime Organization (IMO) environmental standards. Capt. Vadakkepat expressed his gratitude to Synergy Marine Group, N2 Tankers’ technical management partner, for their support in ensuring a seamless delivery process.
 
N2 Tankers: A Boutique Aframax Operator

Its fleet, averaging just 4.5 years in age, comprises vessels built at renowned Japanese shipyards such as Sumitomo, Universal Shipbuilding, and Tsuneishi.
