China Merchants Energy Shipping Group Holds Annual "Dual Carbon" Work Meeting Xinde Marine News Pang Kai 2024-11-14 17:04


On the afternoon of November 12, 2024, China Merchants Energy Shipping Group held its annual "Carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals" meeting. General Manager Wang Yongxin, who also leads the Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutrality Task Force, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.

Recognition of Achievements: Wang Yongxin praised the efforts of all departments and companies in advancing the Carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals, emphasizing the need to align with the new development philosophy and accelerate the green transformation of the fleet.

The focus was on balancing emission reduction goals with high-quality corporate growth, urging a shift from short-term thinking to a more forward-looking, comprehensive, and innovative approach to green transformation.

Wang outlined four key areas for the next phase of carbon reduction:

Innovation and Bottom-Line Security: Encouraging creative solutions while adhering to environmental limits.

Top-Down Leadership and Grassroots Implementation: Ensuring strong leadership and effective execution across all levels.

Raising Awareness and Enhancing Skills: Promoting understanding and developing the technical expertise necessary for progress.

Leveraging External Forces and Collaborative Development: Strengthening cooperation with external partners to drive collective progress.

As China Merchants Energy Shipping Group continues its journey toward green and sustainable development, the company is committed to the ongoing pursuit of innovation and collaboration in tackling carbon challenges.
