Chinaland Shipping has officially entered the Capesize market with the addition of its first Capesize vessel, MV CHINAFRIE LUCK(ex MV. China Peace), to its operational fleet on October 11th. This marks a significant strategic shift for the company, transitioning from its previous focus on Handy-size vessels to larger Capesize ships.
On October 16th, Chinaland Shipping will further expand its Capesize fleet with the inclusion of another vessel, MV CHINAFRIE HAPPINESS. Both ships, built by Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding, boast a deadweight tonnage of 174,000 tons, fly the Liberian flag, and are classed by the China Classification Society. They will be managed by Chinaland Shipping's subsidiary, Standard (Shanghai) Shipping Services Co., Ltd.
To support this expansion, Chinaland Shipping has established a dedicated commercial operations team for Capesize vessels, ensuring optimal management and safety. The MV CHINAFRIE LUCK has already embarked on its maiden voyage to the loading ports in West Africa.
This strategic move reflects Chinaland Shipping's commitment to diversifying its fleet and adjusting its structure for long-term growth. By introducing larger Capesize vessels, the company aims to enhance the variety and capacity of its core fleet, aligning with its long-term development strategy.
Looking ahead, Chinaland Shipping will seize market opportunities by continuously strengthening its fleet capabilities and elevating its shipping service levels. The company is determined to expand its market share and deepen its presence in the international bulk and general cargo shipping market.
