CNOOC starts Ningbo LNG terminal expansion xinde marine news 2018-07-02 16:07


China National Offshore Oil Corp (CNOOC) began construction works on the second phase of the Ningbo LNG import terminal in Zhejiang province. 
 
The facility located in the Zhejiang province currently has a capacity to handle 3 mtpa of LNG.
 
Citing a Zhejiang provincial government, Reuters reports the construction of the second phase started on Wednesday.
 
Under the expansion project, the handling capacity of the terminal will be increased to 6 million tons of LNG per year.
 
In addition, CNOOC will build three LNG storage tanks each capable of holding 160,000 cubic meters of the chilled fuel.
 
The expansion project is expected to be completed in 2020.
