At the Global Sustainable Transportation Summit Forum and the 15th International Transportation Technology and Equipment Exhibition, China Marine Bunker (PetroChina) Co.Ltd.  (abbreviated as CHIMBUSCO), a core shipping service enterprise under COSCO Shipping Group, held a "Green Methanol Bunkering Capacity Building Conference".

At the meeting, China Petroleum Circulation Association and China Entry-Exit Inspection & Quarantine Association respectively announced the official release of two group standards, "Marine Methanol Fuel Water Bunkering Regulations" and "Marine Methanol Fuel", initiated by CHIMBUSCO.

China Classification Society (CCS) and Bureau Veritas (BV) issued AIP Certificates for 7,800 dwt dual-fuel powered green methanol bunkering ships to CHIMBUSCO and COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry.

This is the first time that standards for methanol bunkering operations and quality control have been released in China. This ship type is also the first professional green methanol bunkering ship type in China that has been awarded certificates by two classification societies at the same time.

The official release of the two standards and the "7800 dwt dual-power green methanol bunkering ship" obtained AIP certificates from two classification societies, together with the methanol bunkering guidelines and inspection specifications established by CCS and BV, marked China’s first green methanol bunkering technology chain has been basically completed.
