The amount of coal shipped from ports to power plants via rail lines saw a significant increase this year. The Yangtze River Delta railway has transported 4.26 million tonnes of coal from ports since June, up 18.4% from the year-ago level.

The Yangtze River Delta region has been focusing on strengthening the allocation of transportation resources and ensuring smooth loading and unloading of coal to guarantee stable coal supply to power plants in Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Shanghai and Anhui.

It is understood that the power consumption in many provinces across the Yangtze River Delta region has reached record highs since July, resulting in a continuous increase in coal demand by major power utilities. The Yangtze River Delta region has made its effort to release and enhance power coal shipping capacity and improve the efficiency of coal transportation.
