Huangpu Wenchong won orders for four multi-purpose heavy lift ships from HMM Xinde Marine News Sarah Yu 2023-08-11 16:50

On August 10, 2023, CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding collaborated with China Shipbuilding Trading and South Korean HMM held a signing ceremony for the new shipbuilding order of four 38,000 dwt multi-purpose heavy lift vessels.

HMM is headquartered in Seoul, South Korea and was established on March 25, 1976. It is the largest shipping company in South Korea, with a fleet of 88 container ships, 5 bulk carriers, 10 tankers, 4 heavy lift vessels, and 3 PCTCs under construction. The 38,000 dwt multi-purpose heavy lift vessel newly ordered by HMM in Huangpu Wenchong will be for HMM's own use to expand its fleet.
 
With the diversification of business undertaken by the shipping industry, the demand for heavy lift vessels in the market continues to grow. Huangpu Wenchong has successfully delivered 8,400 dwt, 13,200 dwt, and other types of heavy lift vessel products, and received orders for six 32,000 dwt heavy lift vessels by the end of 2021.
