Hengli Heavy Industry signed 4 ships to enter bulk carrier construction markets Xinde Marine News Sarah Yu 2023-05-16 11:32

On May 12, Hengli Shipbuilding (Dalian), a subsidiary of Hengli Heavy Industry Group, and Fortune Ocean officially signed a contract for the construction of four 82,000 DWT bulk carriers. This order marks that Hengli Heavy Industry has officially entered the mainstream bulk carrier construction markets.

The 82,000 DWT bulk carriers signed this time was independently developed and designed by SDARI, and is the mainstream bulk carrier type in the shipping market.
 
This series of ships has a total length of 229 meters, a molded width of 32.26 meters, a molded depth of 20.35 meters, a design draft of 12.2 meters, a load capacity of 82,000 dwt, and a design speed of 14.0 knots. It is the latest generation of ship types that meet the requirements of EEDI phase III.
 
According to another source, Hengli Heavy Industry may soon receive large orders for new ships from international shipowners.
