On April 27, Jiangnan Shipyard and China Shipbuilding Trading held a signing and launching ceremony in Shanghai for two 175,000 m3 large LNG carriers built for Taiping & Sinopec Financial Leasing and Shandong Marine Energy.
This is the first large-scale LNG ship order undertaken by China this year, and it is also of strategic significance to Jiangnan Shipyard.
After the project is delivered, it will be chartered by Shandong Marine Energy for Sinopec to import LNG from the United States.
Pacific Gas, a subsidiary of Shandong Marine Energy, has successively ordered seven 98,000 m3 VLECs at Jiangnan Shipyard, two of which have been delivered so far.
