SPG makes Logistics and Supply Chain (China) Solutions Top 50 SPG 2022-11-11 17:04

The 2022 Global Trade and International Logistics Summit, a supporting event of the fifth China International Import Expo, kicked off on the morning of Nov 8 in Shanghai. During the event, the 2022 Logistics and Supply Chain (China) Solutions Top 50 was unveiled, and Shandong Port Group or SPG was the only port enterprise on the list.
SPG's intelligent air-track transport system is one of the Top 50 projects, which has focused on solving domestic port-city transportation problems. It has introduced sky rail into port construction and developed a vertical intelligent air-track transport system, with construction costs 50 percent lower than that of railway transport and construction area only accounting for only 30 percent of that of road transport.

The whole transport process is purely powered by electricity. This mode of transporting containers directly from the yard on air to the rail port can reduce noise by 25 percent, cut down transport energy consumption by over 50 percent compared with traditional truck transport as well as decrease carbon emissions by over 90 percent. All these progress will help China achieve carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals and contribute a demonstration project to the smart and green port construction.

The other selected Top 50 project of SPG is the digital intelligent logistic platform, which has employed technologies as big data, digital middle platform and internet of Things, and it has integrated data from customs, railway, Beidou Navigation Satellite System and SPG's four subsidiaries. This can provide whole-process and multi-dimensional digital logistics services for customers, which is expected to make logistics easier and services more economical.

The combined forces of global changes and COVID-19 both unseen in a century have taken a heavy toll on the security and stability of supply and industrial chains. Moving ahead, SPG will continue to leverage its role as a logistics hub and a gateway for opening up, and stay committed to connectivity and ensuring smooth logistics services, as part of its efforts to stabilize industrial and supply chains.
