Cargo throughput in Chinese ports grows 4.1 pct CCTV 2022-11-01 09:29


Cargo throughput at Chinese ports registered positive growth of 4.1 percent, topping over 36 million tons, according to data released by China’s Ministry of Transport on Sunday.

On Sunday, Chinese ports posted robust throughput with a cargo handling capacity of 36.057 million tons, 4.1 percent higher than the previous day. And a total of 764,000 twenty-foot equivalent units of containers were handled at ports in China, down 1.4 percent over the previous day, according to the ministry.

Meanwhile, China's civil aviation sector handled 627 cargo flights on Sunday, down 20.3 percent over the previous day.

The postal and express delivery service sector collected about 312 million express parcels and delivered 307 million parcels on Sunday, down 1.9 percent and 2.5 percent respectively day on day.

China's rail freight generally maintained high-level operation, which dropped by 0.47 percent to 10.053 million tons from the previous day, and 6.214 million trucks ran on expressways nationwide, down 10.52 percent over a day earlier.
