On October 11, Nantong COSCO Khi Ship Engineering received AiP from Lloyd's Register for a 16000 TEU ammonia-fueled container ship.
LR, NACKS and Hudong Heavy Machinery jointly promoted the project from early 2021. LR finally approved and issued the AiP certificate.
Ammonia fuel has been recognized in recent years as one of the most promising alternative fuels for achieving zero-carbon shipping goals.
