2022 Shandong Port Trading Conference kicks off in Qingdao SPG 2022-08-01 09:34

The 2022 Shandong Port Trading Conference kicked off in Qingdao on July 28. With the theme of "take a leading position through ports to embark on a new journey", the event aims to build a platform for industry exchanges and discuss new strategies and new tasks for ensuring an unimpeded global supply chain amid the post-pandemic era. This will help serve the establishment of a new development pattern and promote global economic development.

In recent years, and in the face of the unprecedented global changes and the COVID-19 pandemic, guaranteeing the security of a sustainable supply chain is needed to cope with the development and changes of the international supply chain pattern, which provides vital support for smoothing out domestic and international circulation and is a key goal that's being promoted at this year's conference.

As one of the most important bulk commodity distribution centers in the country, the throughput of SPG's crude oil, iron ore, bauxite and fertilizer all rank first in China, and the annual import volumes account for one-third, one-fourth, two-thirds and one-fifth of the national total, respectively.

SPG is committed to shifting from being a single-port operator to a comprehensive supply chain service provider, thus forming trade businesses including 24 types of cargos and 16 functions that span across 17 prefecture-level cities. After years of development, a comprehensive whole supply chain system featuring "port+trade+logistics+finance+shipping" has been set up.

Amid the more complex and severe international environment, and sporadic resurgences of COVID-19 cases, and a variety of unexpected factors, the event is bound to convey industrial confidence, and more efforts will be made to build a platform that consists of shared planning and tackles future challenges.
