On July 18, the opening ceremony of the Southeast Asia route of MSC, the world's largest container company, was held at Dalian Port Container Terminal, marking the first direct route of MSC from northeast China to Southeast Asia officially put into operation.
 
Liaoning Port Group's Dalian Port and MSC jointly launched the direct route from northeast China to Southeast Asia, with a total of six 2,500TEU container ships, and the first time directly reach Panjiang Port in Indonesia and Vung Tau Port in Vietnam.
 
It is reported that this is the fourth new route opened by Dalian Port of Liaoning Port Group to RCEP countries since RCEP came into effect this year, and the second Southeast Asia route opened by Dalian Port this month.
 
According to statistics, in the first half of 2022, the transshipment volume of Dalian Port around the Bohai Sea increased by 99% year on year; The direct China-Europe freight trains in Dalian increased by 47.2%, and the number of sea-rail combined containers increased by 17.8% year-on-year. The container business throughput bucked the trend and increased to 1.88 million TEUS, up 10.8% year on year, ranking among the fastest among major domestic coastal ports.
