The world's largest container ship Ever Alot berthed at Shanghai's Yangshan Port on Friday, setting a new record of ultra-large container ship berthing at the Yangshan Deepwater Port.
The ship, 399.99 meters long and 61.5 meters wide, is able to load more than 24,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs).
It will handle 3,700 TEUs during its berthing at the port in Shanghai.
Since April this year, 40 large cargo ships have berthed at the Yangshan Port.
The Yangshan Border Inspection Station has taken various measures to enlarge the shipping and transportation capacity of the port, including simplifying customs clearance procedures and providing services upon arrival.
