Tianjin Port Group: build world-class green port Xinde Marine News 2022-06-14 11:48

Tianjin Port Group has always attached great importance to energy saving and carbon reduction, promoted the port carbon peak and carbon neutrality, and promoted the clean, low-carbon and high-quality development of the port.

As an important part of the transportation industry, ports are not only an important source of energy consumption and carbon emissions, but also a key field to promote green development and achieve carbon neutrality. Tianjin Port Group has helped to build a world-class green port. Since 2012, cargo throughput has increased by 12%, container throughput by 64%, and carbon emission intensity has decreased by 16%.

Thanks to the smart green energy system, the wharf is provided with green energy matching its energy consumption. It has become the first zero-carbon wharf in the world that uses 100% electricity, 100% green electricity is wind power, photovoltaic and other green electricity, and 100% self-generated green electricity.

Tianjin Port Group has deepened environmental protection measures to gradually reduce port loading and unloading energy consumption. The utilization rate of shore power, the utilization rate of low-sulfur oil from ships, and the standard rate of pollution sources discharged directly to the sea have all reached 100%.

In recent years, Tianjin Port Group has carried out various work of energy saving and carbon reduction, which has gradually reduced the energy consumption of port handling and improved the energy saving management system.
