Hudong: two 24000TEUs ULCC docked on the same day Xinde Marine News 2022-06-13 10:56

On June 11, two 24000TEUs ULCC built by the Hudong-Zhonghua for MSC were successfully docked.

24000TEUs ULCC is independently developed and designed by Hudong-Zhonghua. Its performance index has reached the most advanced in the world, and it is the container vessel with the largest packing capacity in the world at present.

The bubble drag reduction system and shaft generator system adopted by Hudong-Zhonghua for the first time on this type of ship are two highlights. The bubble drag reduction system can not only effectively reduce the total energy consumption of the ship, but also reduce the corresponding total carbon emissions by 3%-4%, which can roughly reduce more than 6000 tons in operation a year. The shaft generator can reduce fuel consumption, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and significantly reduce the fuel cost of ships, with considerable economic and social benefits.
