Yang Ming Conferred the 2021 Blue Circle Awards by the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority Yang Ming 2022-06-08 10:25


Yang Ming Marine Transport Corp. for the sixth time earned recognition from VFPA (The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority) and was conferred the “2021 Blue Circle Awards.” The award ceremony was held on May 31, 2022 in Vancouver, and President Cloud Lu of Yang Ming Shipping (Canada) Ltd. attended the event to receive the award.
 
The Blue Circle Awards is a recognition for the highest level of participation in the EcoAction Program by VFPA intended to promote voluntary carbon-emission reduction measures by marine transport operators in the Port of Vancouver. Yang Ming has participated in this program since 2014. Every year, marine carriers with outstanding emissions reduction are recognized by VFPA. Under this program, a shipping company meeting eligibility criteria are offered discount harbor dues. This is done to encourage implementation of environmental policies by shipping companies.
 
As mentioned, Yang Ming having garnered this honor for the sixth time attests to its commitment to protecting the marine environment. The Company will continue dedicating to environmental protection, while abiding by international environmental protection regulations and conventions, in order to fulfill its corporate social responsibility and achieve the goal of sustainable development.
