Chinese president stresses boosting Yangpu port development in Hainan Xinde Marine News 2022-04-18 16:18

On the morning of the 12th,the president of China,Xi Jinping came to Yangpu Economic Development Zone, located in Danzhou city, Hainan province.He inspected the Yangpu exhibition hall and xiaochantan port area of Yangpu international container terminal and learnt of the development of Yangpu Economic Development Zone and the construction of free trade port with Chinese characteristics.
 
"Yangpu Port is the most important port in Hainan.The president is very concerned about the current situation, future objectives and development potential of Yangpu Port." As the main commentator, Bateer, director of the department of transportation of Hainan province, reported the port layout of Yangpu, the progress of the construction of container hub port and the future planning.
 
Yangpu Port is located in the northwest of Hainan province, across the sea from Qinzhou Port in Guangxi and Haiphong Port in Vietnam.It is located at the forefront of China Asean Free Trade Area.It is the last container deep-water port from China to the South China Sea through Beibu Gulf. At the same time, it is also the first container gateway port from the South China Sea to China through Beibu Gulf. In 2021, the container throughput of Yangpu international container terminal will be 1.13 million TEUs.

The most important task this year is to start the expansion project of Yangpu container terminal and the channel expansion project. The two projects are scheduled to start in September this year and be completed in 2024. At that time, Yangpu Port can dock four 200000 ton and three 150000 ton large container ships at the same time.
