On November 29, Dalian Shipbuilding Industry, a subsidiary of CSSC, completed the LNG bunkering of the 300,000DWT LNG dual-fuel VLCC91 built for COSCO SHIPPING Energy Transportation, which marked that DSIC has taken substantial steps in the field of LNG-powered ship construction.
The ship uses LNG as the main fuel, is equipped with dual-fuel main engines, generators, and boilers. The carbon dioxide emission reduction meets the most advanced EEDI Phase III, the nitrogen oxide emissions meets Tier III requirements, and CCS i- Ship (E) requirements.
In the gas mode, the ship consumes about 60 tons of gas per day, has a battery life of 12,000 nautical miles, and has a combined fuel and gas battery of 24,000 nautical miles. Energy Efficiency Design Index is 36% lower than the baseline.
The two C-type 3,500m3 low-temperature LNG storage tanks adopted by the ship were independently built by DSIC and have all the intellectual property rights.
