Shenzhen's Yantian Port suspends acceptance of laden export containers till May 31! xinde marine news Sarah Yu 2021-05-28 11:54

Shenzhen Yantian International Container Terminal (YICT), the world's largest single container terminal and responsible for one quarter of China's trade with the United States, has announced that it will continue to stop accepting laden export containers after a 2-day export shutdown.

Due to the high storage yard density in Yantian Port, the operation efficiency of the terminal is seriously affected. In order to improve the above problems and avoid the surrounding social traffic congestion, Yantian Port has made the following decisions:

· During the period from 00:00 on May 28 to 23:59 on May 30, YICT stopped acceptance of gate-in of laden export containers; During this period, the import of laden and empty containers to maintain normal operation.

· The acceptance of laden containers will be resumed from 00:00 on May 31, and only laden export containers with ETA-3 days (that is, three days before the estimated ship arrival date) will be accepted. This measure will be implemented from May 31 to June 6.

From the beginning, only 3 berths in the West Port area were closed for final undisinfection, until 22:00 on the 25th, all gate-in of laden export containers were stopped, and the "shutdown" time was significantly extended to after 00:00 on May 31. .

Shenzhen Yantian International Container Terminal, the world's largest single container terminal, as well as the most important terminal on European and American routes, , is becoming another crumbling domino in the global shipping industry!

With the passage of time, the impact of the export shutdown of YICT on the traffic around the Yantian area, as well as the berthing plan of ships at sea is emerging.
