China will fully promote the digitization of ship inspection certificates in 2021 xinde marine news Sarah Yu 2020-12-21 17:02

On December 18, Ministry of Transport held the 2020 National Ship Inspection Work Conference and announced that in 2021, the electronic ship inspection certificate will be fully promoted.

The ship inspection industry has taken multiple measures to help China's shipping industry develop healthily and vigorously.

It has issued more than 23,000 electronic certificates for Chinese ships on international voyages, and is the first in the world to realize the electronicization of 100% international voyage ships inspection certificates.

Submitted more than 250 ship inspection proposals to IMO and other international organizations, providing a Chinese plan for international maritime governance.

The meeting emphasized that it is necessary to focus on the new generation of intelligent shipping, new materials, new energy and other technological frontiers, carry out research on smart ships, large-scale deep-sea multi-function rescue ships and other ship-type technologies and related technical regulations, and promote the application of Beidou navigation technology.

In 2021, the electronicization of ship inspection certificates will be fully promoted. Steadily promote the opening of the statutory inspection of internationally registered ships in the Free Trade Zone (Port). Participate deeply in issues related to ship technical standards such as unmanned ship legislation and greenhouse gas emission reduction in international organizations, and continue to deepen international exchanges and cooperation.
