On October 20, the naming ceremony of the 174,000 cubic meter LNG ship "LNG MEGREZ" built by Hudong Zhonghua, was held at Changxing Island base 0, marking the conclusion of Hudong Zhonghua Yamal LNG project.
With a total length of 295 meters, a width of 45 meters, a depth of 26.25 meters, and a speed of 19.5 knots, "LNG MEGREZ" is the fourth-generation XDF dual-fuel 174,000 cubic meter LNG ship in the world.
The ship uses two W6X72DF dual-fuel main engines produced by WinGD and CMD, with energy consumption reduced by 16%. Moreover, it adopts the special cargo tank mode of GTT No.96 L 03+ and the latest generation of cargo tank enclosure system, making it the LNG carrier with the highest propulsion efficiency and the best environmental performance in the world.
The successful naming of "LNG MEGREZ" indicates that the Yamal LNG conventional ship project will soon be completed. Since the signing of the project in June 2017, Hudong Zhonghua, with the full support of all parties, will soon realize the successful delivery of all 4 LNG ships.
