Norway's OIM Wind has signed an EPC contract with CIMC Raffles to build 1+1 wind power installation ship.

According to OIM Wind, the ship will be the largest of its kind in the industry and will be able to transport and install four complete "XXL" wind turbines, along with a liquefied natural-gas-powered engine and an on-board integrated battery pack that can be used as a rotary power reserve.

The ship is scheduled to begin operations by OSM Maritime in late 2022.
