On March 16, New Times Shipbuilding signed a contract with Chartworld for the construction of four 13,000 TEU container ships at a total cost of $420 million.
 
The new ships will be operated with conventional power, and each ship will be equipped with 2,100 reefer sockets. The first ship is expected to start construction in mid-March 2022 and be delivered in July 2023.
 
This is the largest container ship ever built on order in New Times Shipbuilding.
 
Currently, New Times Shipbuilding has a total order of 35 vessels with a total value of about 4.347 million DWT, including 1 325,000 DWT VLOC, 3 208,000 DWT bulk carriers, 10 50,000 DWT product/chemical tankers, 5 110,200 DWT product tankers and 16 crude oil carriers.
