China Merchants Energy Shipping announced on March 27 that Hong Kong Ming Wah Shipping, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company, plans to sign a contract with China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Nanjing) to order four 62,000 tons multipurpose vessels.

The construction price shall not exceed US $29.674 million, the total investment shall not exceed US $119 million, and the delivery time is expected to be 2022.

CMES said in the announcement that the purchase and construction plan of the multi-purpose vessel is the need for the company's bulk cargo fleet capacity update.

It is conducive to improving the operation capabilities and economic benefits of bulk cargo routes, stabilizing and improving market control.

After the delivery of new shipbuilding, it will be of positive significance to optimize the company's bulk fleet structure and enhance its market competitiveness.
