Maersk cancels all crew changes for a month on virus spread risk xinde marine news 2020-03-18 09:58

Maersk has, due to the consequences of the coronavirus, suspended all crew changes until April 14, the company tells union Co-Søfart.

To minimize the risk of spreading coronavirus, Maersk will not change crew on its ships over the next month. Staff currently on the ships must remain there for the next four weeks without being replaced.

“It has not been an easy decision to make, but as things develop minute by minute,we see no other way out,”said Niels Bruus, who is responsible for Maersk's seamen.
