1.Chinese and South Korean shipping companies will compete for Russian icebreaking LNG ship orders worth up to $3bn.

2.An offshore wind power industrial park project broke ground at Haiyang Nuclear Power Equipment Manufacturing Park in Haiyang, Yantai, East China's Shandong province on Dec 18.

3.Construction on a liquefied natural gas (LNG) cryogenic equipment industrial center started on Dec 18 in Zhangjiagang, East China’s Jiangsu province.

4.China's icebreaker Xuelong 2 conducted investigations in the Cosmonaut Sea of the Southern Ocean on Tuesday, the same day when China's other icebreaker Xuelong also sailed for the Amundson Sea for research.

5.China began drilling its first self-run ultra-deepwater natural gas field, Lingshui 17-2, indicating that the country is fully capable of exploring and developing ultra-deepwater oil and gas fields. 

6.Shipping industry confidence is on something of a high as we enter 2020, according to shipping advisor and accountant BDO.

7.Anhui's provincial economic planner has given the nod on 10 distributed wind power projects recently, with one on December 19 and nine on December 23. Designed capacity of these projects amounts to 204.6 MW. 

8.China's crude oil futures closed higher on Wednesday.The most active contract for February 2020 delivery up 1.13 percent to 484.2 yuan per barrel, data from the Shanghai International Energy Exchange showed.
