1.On December 23, 2019, COSCO SHIPPING and China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement.
 
2.Ren Yuanlin, chairman of China’s largest private shipbuilder Yangzijiang Shipbuilding, has finished assisting the government with unspecified investigations and returned home according to Chinese financial media Caixin.

3.Navigation Brilliance, a Qingdao-based smart ship technology company, has placed an order at Yangfan Shipbuilding’s Qingdao Shipyard for the construction of a 300 teu autonomous boxship for a research and development project.

4.Nanjing Tanker, a tanker unit of China Merchants Group, has placed an order at CSIC-affiliated Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry for the construction of two 24,000 dwt crude oil tankers.

5.Bulk shipping operator Dalian Success Innovation has entered into shipbuilding contracts with Fujian Southeast Shipbuilding for the construction of four 22,500 dwt handy bulk carriers.

6.Netherlands-based Damen Marine Components (DMC), which specializes in the design and production of rudders, has completed the supply of nine Van der Velden ATLANTIC rudders to COSCO Guangdong Shipyard over a two-and-a-half-year period.

7.The Norwegian technology provider CGR Arctic Marine and the Chinese shipyard Wuzhou Shipbuilding have formed a JV for design and promotion of technologies for small-scale LNG carriers and LNG bunkering vessels.

8.Japan’s JERA has entered into a memorandum of understanding with PetroChina International, a unit of China National Petroleum Corporation, concerning cooperation in the LNG business.
