1.On the afternoon of December 9, 2019, China Merchants Group announced that Hu Jianhua was appointed as the General Manager of China Merchants Group.

2.From 20 February 2020, Frank He and Deborah Yu will be appointed respectively General Manager and Deputy General Manager of our Hong Kong office.

3.The technology group Wärtsilä has signed a strategic development agreement with Chinese state-owned shipbuilder CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding Company Limited Huangpu Wenchong. 

4.China's biggest refiners Sinopec and PetroChina are increasing their capacity to produce 0.5pc sulphur marine fuel that complies with the International Maritime Organization (IMO) 2020 regulations.

5.China announced on December 9 the establishment of a national oil and gas pipeline company in a move intended to boost competition, the Xinhua state news agency said. 

6.The newly launched iron ore options will not only help China to have more decision power in the international market but also further enrich the country's financial market, said experts.

7.Intelligent shipping, which involves the use of informationization and digital technologies, could well be the silver lining for the global shipping industry to stave off an industrial recession and the ideal conduit for China to become a global maritime power.
 
8.BIMCO’s Documentary Committee has agreed to carry out a major overhaul of the Dispute Resolution Clause with the aim to shorten and simplify what has become BIMCO’s longest standard clause.
