Welcome Remarks By SSA President Caroline Yang at Global Maritime Forum Welcome Reception xinde marine news 2019-10-30 13:21

SSA President Caroline Yang warmly welcomed more than 200 eminent maritime and businessleaders at the Global Maritime Forum Welcome Reception, the prelude to the Global Maritime Forum summit2019 in Singapore from 30-31 Oct. "The Global Maritime Forum will bring closer dialogue and collaborations between public and private organisations from the international community as we navigate the future together,"said Ms Yang.

SSA is a trade organisation with about 480 member companies.Ship associations in most parts of the world have members which consist of ship- owners only. SSA is different."Our association not only represent ship-owners. We also have member companies that are ship operators, ship agents, charterers and other maritime-related fields such as marine insurance, ship finance, maritime law and classification societies, among others. In addition, with the active participation of our member companies, we believe that SSA is a strong collective and representative voice of the maritime industry, locally, regionally and even globally." said Ms Yang.

The nine operational committees are aligned with Singapore government’s Industry Transformation Map for Sea Transport : connectivity, innovation and talent. Indeed, the maritime community in Singapore is fortunate to have a visionary port regulator and the strong support of the Singapore government to advance the maritime industry. In today’s dynamic geo-political landscape and with climate change concerns more stark than ever, it is more pressing for business leaders globally and across industries, to take leadership, ownership and accountability for challenges and solutions.

"I am sure that the Global Maritime Forum will bring closer dialogue and collaboration amongst public and private stakeholders from the international community as we navigate the future together." Ms Yang added.
