On August 12, a thematic educational acitivity on “Remain True to Our Original Aspiration and Keep Our Mission Firmly in Mind” and a symposium on cooperation between centrally-adminsitered state-owned enterprises (SOEs) and local departments and enterprises took place at the Xiamen International Conference Center. The acitivity was co-hosted by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC) and the Xiamen Municipal Party Committee and Government.
Mr. Hao Peng, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the SASAC, addressed the symposium. Mr. Hu Changsheng, a member of the Standing Committee of Fujian Provinical Party Committee and Secretary of Xiamen Provincial Party Committee, presided over the symposium. Mr. Zhuang Jiahan, Mayor of Xiamen, Mr. Chen Jiadong, Chairman of the Standing Committee of Xiamen Municipal People’s Congress and Mr. Zhang Jian, Chairman of the CPPCC Xiamen Municipal Committee, as well as leaders and guests from the SASAC and centrally-administered SOEs were present at the symposium.
Capt. Xu Lirong, Party Secretary and Chairman of COSCO SHIPPING, attended the symposium and gave a speech as one of the three representatives from centrally-adminsitered SOEs. Hailing the favorable enviroment created by Xiamen for innovation and enterprenuship, he introduced the investments made by COSCO SHIPPING in container shipping , terminals, passenger transport, cruises and logistics in the city and the future plan. He said the corporation will seize the new opportunties from Xiamen’s innovative development and strenghten strategic cooperation with the city at higher levels and in broader areas to achieve higher-quality development while giving a further boost to local socioeconomoic development.
After the symposium, a signing ceremony was held for project cooperation between centrally-administered SOEs and local departments and enterprises. COSCO SHIPPING Xiamen and COSCO SHIPPING Ports concluded cooperation agreements with related departments and enterprises in Xiamen.
