On October 23, COSCO SHIPPING Ports (CSP) announced the strategic acquisition of equity in two major terminals at Thailand’s Laem Chabang Port. This acquisition includes:

——a 12.5% stake in Thai Laemchabang Terminal Co., Ltd. (TLT) and

——a 30% stake in Hutchison Laemchabang Terminal Ltd. (HLT), with the transaction valued at approximately USD 110 million.

The purchase covers significant operational berths:
—— TLT Terminal: Berth A2
——HLT Terminal: Berths A3, C1-C2, and D1-D3 (with ongoing construction on berths D1-D3).
Once fully operational, these berths are expected to handle up to 6.7 million TEU annually, further positioning Laem Chabang as a vital international container hub.

Enhancing Regional and Global Connectivity
This investment aligns with CSP's strategy to deepen China-Thailand economic ties and bolster COSCO's global resource distribution, while also optimizing synergy within port and shipping operations. CSP is committed to expanding cooperation with key shipping players in Thailand and Southeast Asia, enhancing local logistics capabilities, and providing comprehensive service offerings to clients.

About Laem Chabang Port
Located approximately 60 nautical miles southeast of Bangkok, Laem Chabang Port is Thailand’s largest deep-water port, responsible for handling around 80% of the nation’s container throughput. As part of Thailand's Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) initiative, Laem Chabang continues to benefit from extensive government-backed infrastructure projects, strengthening its role as a primary hub for COSCO SHIPPING’s dual-brand vessels in Thailand.

This acquisition further underscores COSCO SHIPPING Ports' commitment to building resilient, world-class port infrastructure that enhances economic integration and trade efficiency across the Asia-Pacific region.
