1.China might escort Chinese commercial vessels in Gulf waters under a U.S. proposal for a maritime coalition to secure oil shipping lanes following attacks on tankers, its envoy to the United Arab Emirates said on Tuesday.
 
2.While iron ore has been hammered by the renewed escalation of the U.S.-China trade war, there are also signs the supply crunch that sent prices to a five-year high is easing.
 
3.The deep-water port of Nansha in Guangzhou has doubled the number of direct connections with North Europe and West Africa, following the arrival of the Elly Maersk on July 28.
 
4.Hong Kong-based minor bulk specialist Pacific Basin, has announced the appointment of Dr Kyllikki Tikka as an independent non-executive director of the company.
 
5.Dalian iron ore futures fell in early trade on August 6, extending losses into a fourth session, dragged by downbeat outlook for demand for the steelmaking ingredient in China, where steel inventory has piled up due to tepid consumption. 
 
6.Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) captured a foreign oil tanker for carrying "smuggled" fuel in the Gulf, official IRNA news agency reported Sunday.
 
7.A meeting on promoting the integration, high-level opening-up and high-quality development of Beihai, Qinzhou and Fangchenggang and the construction of a new western land-sea trade corridor was held by the Party Committee and Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in Qinzhou. 
 
8.The large container ship “Xinfuzhou” completed  all maintenance projects, which is another successful cooperation between Dalian COSCO Shipbuilding and COSCO Shipping.
