On July 15, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC) circulated a notice of commendation on enterprises with excellence performance, enterprises with outstanding contributions to sci-tech innovation and enterprises with outstanding contributions to energy conservation and emission reduction. COSCO SHIPPING won the titles of “Enterprise with Excellence Performance” and “Enterprise with Outstanding Contributions to Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction” for its good economic returns, high development quality and excellent business performance. Chairman of COSCO SHIPPING Capt. Xu Lirong accepted the prizes on the spot.
The SASAC said in the notice that during the tenure from 2016 to 2018, centrally-administered enterprises made great efforts to advance the supply-side structural reform. As a result, their economic benefits and development quality were significantly enhanced and their business performance continued to improve, making positive contributions to the steady and sound development of the national economy. The SASAC called upon all other centrally-administered enterprises to follow the example of the award-winners, establish and practice new concepts of development to achieve higher quality, better benefits and a better structure. It also urged efforts to build globally competitive enterprises.
