1.Shortly after it revealed plans for a new digital Danish Register of Shipping, the Danish Maritime Authority informed it reached an important milestone for digital certificates in Ningbo, China.
 
2.MacGregor, part of Cargotec, has received a clearance decision from the Chinese competition regulator, SAMR, for the company’s acquisition of the marine and offshore businesses of TTS Group ASA. Based on revised estimates, potential cost synergies are estimated to be around EUR 25-30 million on annual level.
 
3.MSC Gulsun, the world's largest container ship by carrying capacity, arrived at Qingdao Port, Shandong province on Thursday, setting a new record for the ships berthed at the port.
 
4.Hong Kong carrier Orient Overseas Container Line and compatriot port operator Hutchison Ports are among nine international operators and liner companies that have signed up to a Memorandum of Understanding to form a consortium to develop the Global Shipping Business Network, an open digital platform based on distributed ledger technology (better known as blockchain technology).
 
5.The first China-built cruise ship for polar expeditions has been on a seven-day sea trial departing from a dock in Haimen, East China's Jiangsu province.
 
6.China has inked the cooperation agreements with eighteen Middle Eastern and North African countries to jointly develop the Belt and Road Initiative, including Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Jordan, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Kuwait, Qatar, Egypt, Algeria, Sudan, Morocco, Libya, Somali and Tunisia and others.
 
7.China’s iron ore and coke prices rose on Monday on expectations of an increase in demand for both steelmaking inputs, while steel futures rebounded from three-week lows touched earlier in the session.
 
8.China’s crude oil throughput rose to a record in June, up 7.7% from a year earlier, following the start-up of two new, large refineries, official data showed on Monday.
