President Wang Yongxin Meets with Aliyun Digital Team xinde marine news 2019-05-31 14:39


On May 25, 2019, Mr Wang Yongxin, President of China Merchants Energy Shipping (CMES) had a meeting with Ms Li Jianhong, Director of the State-owned Enterprise Cooperation Department of the Alibaba Group, and her delegation in Shenzhen to have a comprehensive discussion and exchange on “Digital Transformation of Traditional Enterprises and Digitalized and Smart Development of Shipping Enterprises”. Mr Yan Wushan, Vice President of CMES, and Ms Ding Jun, Chief Director of Information Technology / Chief Digital Officer of CMES, accompanied Mr Wang to the meeting.
 
Mr Li Jianhong briefly reviewed their cooperation with the state-owned enterprise and relevant enterprises of China Merchants Group, and shared some successful cases. She expressed the hope to reinforce the willingness to cooperate with CMES, by making use of the digital advantages of Ali Cloud to promptly take part in the digital transformation and innovative practice of CMES. Mr Yang Zhawen, South China Region Chief Architect of Ali Cloud, introduced Alibaba’s product service system established in response to the rapid expansion of global business. He shared that the combination of IOT, big data and AI application technologies with the scenario had a fruitful result in promoting digital transformation and innovation of traditional industries.
 
Mr Wang expressed his gratitude for the introduction and sharing from Alibaba. He expressed that CMES is building a world-class shipping enterprise driven by technology and integrated with the Internet. It aims at accelerating the pace of digital transformation and promptly responding to changes and challenges in the shipping industry, in order to enhance its core competitiveness in the market. Alibaba, on the other hand, possesses leading digital technology and research capabilities. As Ali Cloud has been actively empowering the industries in recent years, both sides have great potential in cooperation in digital technology to empower the traditional shipping industry. Mr Wang hopes that they will strengthen communication and collaboration to benefit from their synergy and work together for achieving tangible results in the digital transformation of the traditional shipping industry.
